Sambu Group, a domestic investment (PMDN) company located in Inhil, through its business unit PT Pulau Sambu in Guntung, held a blood donation event together with the Bahtera Dwipa Abadi Foundation (YBDA) on Sunday, February 23, 2025. With the support of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Indragiri Hilir Regency, the blood donation with the theme "Because Your Drop of Blood Means a Lot to Those in Need" was successfully carried out.

In early 2025, Sambu Group was unfortunately forced to lay off a number of workers due to a coconut shortage that had lasted for months. Both PT Pulau Sambu in Guntung and PT RSUP in Pulau Burung, as part of the Sambu Group, were forced to make workforce efficiencies, as production was below capacity. In an effort to maintain local economic stability and the sustainability of the coconut industry in Indragiri Hilir and surrounding areas, Sambu Group has affirmed its commitment to remain operational despite the uncertainty of coconut supplies. This decision was taken as a strategic step to prevent the threat of worsening local economic conditions and the entire supply chain that depends on the coconut industry.

Kara and Tetra Pak Appreciation for Mobile Vendors

In an effort to show appreciation to mobile vendors who have played a significant role in providing various food ingredients directly to the community, Kara, in collaboration with Tetra Pak, held the Mobile Vendor Partnership Program again. This program took place on February 10, 2025, at Westlake Cafe, Yogyakarta, and was attended by 60 small business actors (PKK) who are part of this initiative.As a form of real support for the vendors, Kara distributed 20 push carts and 40 motorized carts to mobile vendors in the Yogyakarta area. To date, through this ongoing program, a total of 600 carts have been distributed to various regions in Indonesia, consisting of 250 push carts and 350 motorized carts.

PT Riau Sakti United Plantations (PT RSUP), a domestic private company and a member of the Sambu Group, has expressed its commitment to supporting the national food security program initiated by the Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman. This program aims to strengthen food security through the simultaneous planting of corn on a total area of 1 million hectares across Indonesia.
