Sambu Group Strengthens National Coconut Ecosystem Through Kenduri Kelapa 2026

Kenduri Kelapa 2026

Sambu Group has reaffirmed its pivotal role in the national coconut industry ecosystem by hosting Kenduri Kelapa 2026, held from April 14–16, 2026. Under the theme "Coconut Heritage, Shared Future," the event served as more than just a ceremonial forum; it was designed as an open dialogue space between farmers and industry players. In this forum, senior farmers and the younger generation sat together to share experiences and discuss challenges and aspirations for the future of the coconut sector.

Dwianto Arif Wibowo, Corporate Communication Manager of Sambu Group, stated that challenges within the coconut industry cannot be viewed in isolation. According to him, issues extend beyond the downstream or production side, encompassing upstream aspects and relationships between stakeholders. "We believe a sustainable coconut ecosystem cannot be built solely on technology or production; it must start with understanding and trust. This includes coconut farmers, who are the primary suppliers of raw materials. Kenduri Kelapa serves as a vessel to unify those perspectives," said Dwianto Arif.

The Head of Pulau Burung District (Camat), Razali, emphasized the importance of building stronger relationships between farmers and the industry.

  • Mutual Trust: The event is a tangible step in tightening the bond between farmers and industry, fostering stronger mutual understanding.
  • Wider Collaboration: The approach taken not only strengthens partnerships but also opens broader opportunities for collaboration to support the sustainability of the regional coconut sector.

For the farmers, the event provided new insights into the coconut industry value chain. Khoidul Anwar, one of the participants, admitted to gaining knowledge he previously lacked, particularly regarding industrial processing. "We now have a better understanding of how the coconuts we produce are processed in the industry. Additionally, we could directly convey the conditions we face in the fields. This is very beneficial for the future," Khoidul remarked.

Kenduri Kelapa is part of Sambu Group's sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Its primary focus is building a more solid relationship between farmers and the industry through open, experience-based dialogue. In a broader context, this initiative reflects the company’s efforts to strengthen the foundation of the national coconut ecosystem. By building trust and mutual understanding at the upstream level, Sambu Group hopes the industrial value chain will become more adaptive and sustainable.
