As a form of concern for public safety and support for regional development, Sambu Group, through its business unit, PT Pulau Sambu in Guntung, once again carried out its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by assisting with the dismantling of the Teluk Lanjut Bridge piles in Terusan Beringin Jaya Village, Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir Regency.

This activity, which was symbolically carried out with village government officials, aims to facilitate the flow of the river, which is the main route for community mobility. The presence of the old bridge piles was deemed to potentially obstruct the water flow and endanger river transportation activities, especially for fishermen and residents crossing by boat.

A. Ginting, Public Relations of Sambu Group, explained that this activity is part of the company's social responsibility towards the community around its operational area. “As a company that grows together with the community, Sambu Group is committed to contributing to the safety and comfort of the surrounding environment. The dismantling of these bridge piles is expected to smooth the waterway and reduce potential hazards for river users,” said A. Ginting.

This step received appreciation from the Regent of Indragiri Hilir, H. Herman, who welcomed the Sambu Group's initiative in maintaining order on the waterway. “We highly appreciate the tangible support from Sambu Group which has helped the local government maintain order on the waterway. Synergy between the business world and the government like this is a real example of collaboration in sustainable regional development,” expressed Regent Herman.

In line with this, the Head of Pelangiran District, Bustamin, SE., MM, also conveyed his appreciation for the Sambu Group's real contribution. “The river is now flowing smoothly again without obstacles. The smooth flow of river traffic is very important because it is the lifeblood of the community in Pelangiran. We hope that cooperation like this can continue in various aspects of village development,” said Bustamin.

Through this CSR activity, Sambu Group reaffirms its commitment as a national company that not only focuses on economic activity but also has a great concern for social and environmental aspects.
