The Sambu Group, a Domestic Investment Company (PMDN) that has long operated in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau, is once again demonstrating its commitment to supporting infrastructure development in the coastal region of Indragiri Hilir Regency. This time, the company is collaborating with the Bahtera Dwipa Abadi Foundation (YBDA) on a program to build a Mechanical Embankment in Sungai Simbar Village, Kateman District, Inhil, Riau. This collaboration aims to strengthen the protection system for land and community settlements against the potential for tidal flooding.

The construction plan began with a survey and location measurement activity conducted on August 4–5, 2025. Following a technical review process and coordination with the local government, the commitment contract for the embankment construction was officially signed on September 29, 2025.

The project includes the construction of an embankment spanning 5,431 meters as well as the normalization of ditches and existing embankments along 1,733 meters. This infrastructure is expected to provide optimal protection for coconut plantation land and residents' settlements around the Sungai Simbar Village area.

The Head of Kateman District, H. Junaidi, S.Sos, M.Si, praised the consistent contribution of PT Pulau Sambu in Guntung to regional development. “We welcome the initiative from the Sambu Group, which continues to play an active role in helping the people of Kateman. The construction of this embankment is vital to prevent the effects of flooding and maintain the economic stability of the residents, especially the coconut farmers,” Junaidi said.
