Sambu Group, a domestic investment company (PMDN) with a long history of operations in Indragiri Hilir Regency (Inhil), is strongly committed to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which includes infrastructure development for the community. The company has previously built various infrastructure projects through its CSR efforts, such as roads, bridges, dikes, and renovated office buildings. This time, it's the realization of a Jalan Kesehatan I (Health Road I) construction project in Tagaraja Village, Kateman District. A team from Sambu Group, along with leaders from the Kateman village and district, conducted a direct field survey on Monday, September 8, 2025.
This program is a follow-up to the invitation for companies' CSR participation to support accelerated regional development, initiated by the Indragiri Hilir Regency Government. This commitment emerged after a working visit by the Regent of Indragiri Hilir, H. Herman, to Air Tawar Village on Friday, September 5, 2025. During his visit to attend the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday celebration at Al Irsyad Jami Mosque in Kateman Village, H. Herman emphasized that while road construction efforts in 20 districts and 236 villages continue, synergy with the business community is needed to accelerate development in the vast region.
Based on this spirit of partnership, the Regent officially invited Sambu Group, which has operational activities in Kateman District, to participate in the regional infrastructure acceleration program. In response to the invitation, Sambu Group immediately gave a quick and positive response. A. Ginting, the Head of Public Relations for Sambu Group, stated that participating in regional development is a priority for the company. "Sambu Group does not only see itself as a business entity but also as a strategic partner to the government and the community in driving regional progress. Road infrastructure is the lifeblood of the economy and social access for the community. With good road conditions, residents' mobility will be smooth, the distribution of agricultural products will be more efficient, and access to basic services like health and education will be easier," said A. Ginting.
The Regent of Indragiri Hilir, H. Herman, responded positively to the concrete steps taken by Sambu Group. "We highly appreciate and welcome the fact that Sambu Group has accepted the CSR assistance proposal for road construction in Kateman District. In the midst of a minimal Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), the Inhil Regional Government welcomes this. This is what we hope for, and we hope it will soon be followed by other companies operating in Inhil," he explained.
The Head of Kateman District, H. Junaidi, S.Sos, M.Si, echoed these sentiments, affirming Sambu Group's commitment to the community. "We are grateful once again, as Sambu Group often holds CSR activities in infrastructure, social, and health aspects in this Kateman District. This also further shows Sambu Group's commitment to caring for the needs of the community around its operational areas," he said.
The construction project, starting with Jalan Kesehatan I, was chosen as the initial priority due to its vital function for residents' access to health facilities and village activity centers. The improvement of this road segment is expected to have a significant and immediate positive impact on thousands of local residents. Technical implementation in the field will continue to be coordinated with the relevant departments of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Government to ensure optimal results that meet required standards.
