PT Riau Sakti United Plantations (PT RSUP), a domestic private company and a member of the Sambu Group, has expressed its commitment to supporting the national food security program initiated by the Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman. This program aims to strengthen food security through the simultaneous planting of corn on a total area of 1 million hectares across Indonesia.

As an active participant, PT RSUP's Plantation Division has made a significant contribution to this program by providing 50 hectares of land for corn cultivation, with a seed allocation of 30 kilograms per hectare. The allocated land is divided into two areas: 12.5 hectares in Plots 11-16 of Area 4 and 12.5 hectares in Plots 12-16 of Area 4 in Pulau Burung Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir, Riau.

A symbolic corn planting ceremony was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. In addition to the leadership and management of PT RSUP and representatives of the Bahtera DwipaAbadi Foundation (YBDA), the event was also attended by the Chief of the Pulau Burung Police Station, represented by the Head of Community Policing, Aipda Febri.

Their presence reflects the synergy between the government, the police, and the private sector in supporting this food security program.

In his speech, the Head of Community Policing, Aipda Febri, stated, 'This program is a concrete step to ensure food security in Indonesia. We appreciate the support from PT RSUP, which is actively contributing to the success of this program. Through this support, we are optimistic that we can achieve the production targets set for this program.'

A Ginting, Public Relations of the Sambu Group, emphasized the importance of the company's contribution to this program. 'As part of the Sambu Group, PT RSUP is committed to supporting the government's efforts to strengthen national food security. By providing company-owned land to support this food security program, we hope to have a positive impact on the surrounding community and help meet national food needs,' said A Ginting.

This management will be carried out collaboratively between the company, the local community, and Bulog. This collaboration is expected to create a sustainable, efficient, and empowering food management model for the local community.

PT RSUP is collaborating with Bulog to ensure the effective distribution of the harvested corn. The expected yield from the 50-hectare land will become part of the national food stock managed by Bulog. Thus, the success of this program not only supports food security but also positively impacts the stability of corn prices in the market. 'Moreover, we hope that this program will not only be a temporary solution but also the first step in creating a stronger food security system in Indonesia,' concluded A Ginting.

With the spirit of growing together and a commitment to sustainability, PT RSUP continues to strive to contribute to national development, especially in the field of food security. This program is expected to inspire other companies to participate in efforts to create a more food-independent Indonesia.
