Public Appreciates Canal Normalization CSR by PT Guntung Hasrat Makmur

CSR GHS 2026

Village communities within the operational area are directly experiencing the benefits of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program conducted by PT Guntung Hasrat Makmur (PT GHS). Between January and June 2025, the company focused on infrastructure improvement through canal normalization activities. These efforts have been highly valued for reducing flood risks—which occurred frequently in the past—while simultaneously boosting land productivity to support local agriculture and the economy.

Rizki Adi Wijaya, the Head of Sapta Mulia Jaya Village, stated that the normalization of a 1,000-meter canal (measuring 3 meters x 4 meters) has brought significant changes to his village’s environment. He noted that prior to the project, the canal suffered from siltation, which obstructed water flow.

"The canal normalization carried out by PT Guntung Hasrat Makmur has been incredibly helpful for our community. Previously, the water flow was often blocked, leading to standing water, especially during the rainy season. Now, the flow is much smoother, and the risk of flooding has been minimized," he explained on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

Local farmers have felt the impact as well. "We are seeing direct benefits in the agricultural sector. Land that was previously waterlogged is now more productive. This significantly boosts the residents' economy," Rizki added.

Similarly, Beni Nur Setiawan, the Head of Hibrida Mulya Village, expressed his appreciation for the normalization of 2,000 meters of canal (3 meters x 4 meters), as well as the clearing of 2,500 meters of roads and canal corridors. According to Beni, the PT GHS program did more than just improve drainage; it enhanced community accessibility.

"We highly appreciate the CSR contribution from PT GHS. In addition to the canal normalization, the clearing of roads and corridors has made access much better and more comfortable for residents to travel," Beni remarked. He emphasized that the company’s presence has provided tangible positive results. "We hope this collaboration continues, as it greatly assists in village infrastructure development and public welfare."

This canal normalization program is part of PT Guntung Hasrat Makmur’s commitment to supporting sustainable development in its operational areas. The initiative focuses on improving water management systems to prevent flooding and optimize the use of community land.

By implementing targeted CSR programs, the company—in collaboration with the community and government officials—demonstrates an active role in addressing local needs. This ongoing partnership is expected to strengthen further, creating a safer, more productive, and sustainable environment for all.
